How to schedule Facebook Page posts

By RepostsHub Editorial TeamPublished

You can schedule Facebook Page posts for free in Meta Business Suite: create the post, choose your Page, and pick "schedule" with a date and time instead of publishing now. That covers most single-Page needs. A third-party queue becomes useful when you run several Pages, post a lot of video, or want the same content on Instagram and YouTube too.

Scheduling only works for Facebook Pages, not personal profiles. If you post as yourself rather than as a Page, you will need to create a Page first.

Option 1: Meta Business Suite (native)

Meta Business Suite is Meta's free tool for managing Facebook Pages and linked Instagram accounts. It runs in a browser and as a mobile app. Menus change from time to time, so these steps describe the flow rather than exact button names.

  1. Open Meta Business Suite and make sure the right Page is selected in the account switcher.
  2. Start a new post (or a new Reel, for vertical video).
  3. Choose the Facebook Page as the placement. You can also tick a linked Instagram account.
  4. Add your text, image or video, and any link.
  5. Instead of publishing immediately, choose the schedule option and set the date and time.
  6. Confirm. The post appears in the Planner or scheduled content view, where you can edit, reschedule or delete it.

Meta Business Suite also lets you schedule posts directly from a Page's own composer on Facebook, but the Business Suite Planner gives you a clearer calendar view.

What Meta Business Suite does well

  • It is free and made by Meta, so connection problems are rare.
  • It covers Facebook Pages and Instagram in one place.
  • It supports formats like Stories and photo posts that many third-party tools don't.
  • It includes Page insights and an inbox for comments and messages.

Where it gets awkward

  • It only publishes to Meta's own platforms. Your YouTube channel needs a separate upload.
  • Switching between several Pages or business portfolios is clunky if you manage many.
  • There is no central content library that tracks which video went to which Page.
  • Repeated caption elements (a credit line, a sign-off, a link) have to be retyped or pasted each time.

When a third-party queue is more useful

A separate publishing queue makes sense if one or more of these is true:

  • You post mostly video and want the same finished clip on your Facebook Page, Instagram and YouTube Shorts.
  • You manage several Pages, such as several brands, niche pages or client Pages, and want them in one view with separation between them.
  • You batch content and want recurring time slots that fill automatically.
  • You want a library that shows what has been posted where, instead of hunting through each Page's feed.

If you run one Page, post a few times a week and never leave Meta's platforms, Meta Business Suite is enough. Don't add a tool you don't need.

Option 2: Schedule Facebook Page posts with RepostsHub

RepostsHub is a web-based reposting and scheduling tool. It publishes to Facebook Pages, Instagram Business and Creator accounts, and YouTube Shorts from one queue.

1. Connect your Facebook Page

Sign in with Meta's official login and choose the Page (or Pages) you want to publish to. RepostsHub only gets the permissions you grant, and you can remove them later from your Facebook settings. Setup notes are on the Facebook Page auto-poster page.

2. Add or import content

Upload the finished video to your library, or import it from a source profile you own or are authorized to use. The file should already be final. RepostsHub does not edit or resize video, so trim, reframe and remove any watermarks in your editor first.

3. Write the Facebook caption

Facebook audiences tend to read a sentence or two and respond to a question. A short, conversational caption usually fits better than an Instagram-style hashtag block. If you add the same line to every post (for example, "Follow the Page for more") set it as an automatic suffix.

4. Choose a posting time

Pick a date and time, or add the post to an auto-schedule: a recurring set of slots, such as 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. every day, that the queue fills in order. Use your Page insights to pick times when your followers are active rather than relying on generic "best time" lists.

5. Cross-post to supported destinations

If the video also belongs on Instagram or YouTube, set up auto-schedules for those accounts too, each with its own caption prefix or suffix. The full workflow is covered in how to post one video to Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.

6. Check the post history

After the scheduled time, check the status view. Posts are shown as published, scheduled or failed, so an expired login doesn't silently stop your Page from posting.

Workflow for multiple Pages

Running several Pages is where most scheduling mistakes happen: the right post, on the wrong Page.

A few habits prevent that:

  • Separate Pages into workspaces. Keep each brand or client in its own workspace so its content and destinations are never mixed. Agencies should read the social media agencies page for a fuller setup.
  • Choose destinations deliberately. Never rely on a default selection. Look at the Page name before you confirm.
  • Vary content between related Pages. If you run three Pages in the same niche, don't publish the identical video with the identical caption to all three at the same minute. Stagger the timing and adapt the caption, or post different content to each.
  • Keep an eye on connected-account limits. On RepostsHub's Free plan you can connect 2 accounts in total, for example one Facebook Page and one Instagram account. More Pages need the Pro plan (10 connected accounts). See pricing.

Native scheduling vs RepostsHub

Meta Business Suite RepostsHub
Price Free Free plan (2 connected accounts, 30 posts/month), Pro for more
Facebook Page posts Yes Yes
Photo posts and Stories Yes Focused on video; Stories not supported
Instagram Yes (linked account) Yes (Business/Creator)

The honest summary: Meta Business Suite is the better all-round tool for a single Facebook Page, especially if you need insights and message handling. RepostsHub is the better fit when video distribution across several accounts and platforms is the main job.

Many people use both: Meta Business Suite for replies and insights, and a queue for publishing.

Common issues

The Page doesn't appear when connecting. You need a role on the Page with full control (Page admin in the older model, or full control access in the newer Pages experience). Also make sure you granted permission for that specific Page during the Meta login.

Posts fail after working for weeks. The connection may have expired, often after a Facebook password change or when permissions were removed. Reconnect the Page and reschedule failed posts.

The video posted as a regular video instead of a Reel, or the other way round. Facebook decides format partly from the file itself. Vertical short-form video is the Reels-friendly shape. Check the current Facebook requirements if placement matters to you.

The scheduled time looks off. Check the time zone in your tool and in your Page settings. A mismatch shifts every scheduled post by hours.

Engagement dropped after cross-posting. Look at the captions and watermarks before you blame the schedule. A Facebook post that is plainly an Instagram caption pasted with hashtags and "link in bio" tends to underperform.

You hit a limit. Meta applies publishing limits, and your plan has a monthly post allowance. Each publish to a destination account counts toward your monthly post allowance — publishing one video to Instagram, Facebook and YouTube counts as three posts.

Run your Facebook Pages from one queue. Connect your Page, add your video once, and schedule it to Facebook, Instagram and YouTube with a caption for each. Start free with 2 connected accounts and 30 posts per month.

FAQ

Can I schedule posts on a personal Facebook profile?

Generally no. Scheduling tools, including Meta Business Suite and third-party tools, work with Facebook Pages. If you want to schedule content, create a Page and post from it.

Is Meta Business Suite free?

Yes. Meta Business Suite is free for anyone who manages a Facebook Page or a linked Instagram professional account. It includes scheduling, a content calendar, insights and an inbox.

How far ahead can I schedule Facebook Page posts?

Meta's tools let you schedule posts well in advance, typically weeks to months. In practice, scheduling one to four weeks ahead leaves you room to react to news and feedback.

Can I schedule the same video to several Facebook Pages?

Yes, with a tool that supports multiple connected Pages, such as RepostsHub. It works best when you stagger the times and adjust the caption for each Page rather than publishing identical posts at the same moment.

Does RepostsHub reply to comments or show Page insights?

No. RepostsHub handles the content library, captions, scheduling and publishing. Use Meta Business Suite or Facebook itself for comments, messages and insights.

Why did my scheduled Facebook post fail?

The usual causes are an expired connection, missing Page permissions, a video file Facebook rejected, or a publishing limit. Reconnect the Page if needed, check the file, and reschedule the failed post.

Can I schedule Facebook Reels?

Yes. Meta Business Suite supports scheduling Reels to Pages, and RepostsHub publishes vertical video to Facebook Pages. Export the clip vertically at 9:16 so Facebook can treat it as short-form video.
